Women to Watch (W2W) is designed to create impactful training and development opportunities for members and women in the community.

W2W is a yearly program consisting of six monthly seminars led by local experts in a variety of disciplines. Past training topics have included public speaking, dressing for success, economic development, financial education, and advocacy. Commit to attending five of the six W2W sessions and graduate from the program. You will receive a special graduation gift and adding W2W graduate on your resume is an opportunity you do not want to miss!

Please join us for our third session in our "Building a Better You" Series focusing on Personal Finance. We will have three members from our community speak and answer questions on various personal finance topics during a panel session.

Below are the speakers and a description of their background in the financial field.

Emily joined Blakely Financial in 2017 and works to provide clients with comprehensive financial planning. She brings a wealth of experience from her work with the Massachusetts State Treasury, Commonwealth Financial Network® and Goldman Sachs®. Emily joined the team at Blakely Financial to have a positive impact in the lives of other people. Most recently, Emily obtained her CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™) designation, one of the youngest candidates to achieve such a feat.

Emily grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts and graduates from High Point University in North Carolina in May. In her free time, Emily enjoys golf, volunteers as a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont organization and is a member of Women in Motion of High Point.

Lindsay’s background includes a decade of experience as a fiduciary, including client service, financial planning, and investment consulting. Prior to joining SFG, Lindsay was with Fiduciary Investment Advisors (FIA) in Connecticut, and before that, in New York City at Bernstein Global Wealth Management, a unit of Alliance Bernstein. Lindsay is an active member of the Junior League of Greensboro, currently serving as a provisional advisor, but also stepping in 6 months early into the Treasurer Elect role for the 2020-2021 league year. Lindsay and her husband, Tom, moved to North Carolina in 2018. Originally from New York, they appreciate the Greensboro foodie scene and the activities this new city has to offer, while they practice walking and talking more slowly. Lindsay is an avid Pure Barre teacher and spends a lot of time at the studio throughout the week, either teaching or taking class. In her youth, Lindsay was a classically trained vocalist – although she now only performs at karaoke nights with friends.

Wendy B. Gatlin is a Senior Vice President and Wealth Strategies Advisor at Bank of America Private Bank. In this role, she is responsible for the development, delivery and implementation of innovative tax-oriented strategies and solutions for high net worth individuals and families in the areas of estate, charitable giving and investment planning based upon the client’s risk tolerance, time horizon, liquidity needs and overall investment goals. This includes coordinating with the client’s team of advisors and by conducting periodic reviews to help clients monitor progress. Previously, she worked as an independent tax consultant in the Private Bank’s former Planned Giving group. Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank, she worked internationally as a tax consultant, where she was responsible for U.S. and international income tax planning and tax preparation for U.S. citizens living and or working abroad. Wendy has also worked as a corporate tax accountant where she was responsible for income tax compliance, preparation and planning for an assigned group of domestic subsidiaries, joint ventures and partnerships. Wendy earned her B.S. degree in Finance and International Business from the University of Maryland at College Park and her M.S. degree in Taxation from The George Washington University. She is a *CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certificant. Wendy is a member of the Greensboro Estate Planning Council, The Financial Planning Association. She also serves on the Finance Committee for the United Way of Greater Greensboro, Inc., the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee for WellSpring LifePlan Community and the Finance Committee of The Greensboro Montessori School.

Brittany N. Midyette is a Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank. In this role, she is responsible for creating and maintaining personalized investment strategies utilizing a broad range of wealth management services including financial planning and wealth strategy. This includes assisting clients with establishing goals and objectives, working towards developing an appropriate overall strategy, formulating and implementing potential solutions, and conducting periodic reviews to help clients monitor progress toward reaching the initial goals and strategies set forth. In addition, she supports clients in navigating through changing market environments to provide traditional guidance in the areas of asset allocation, retirement, and multi-generational strategies from risked-based strategies to banking and lending needs. Brittany earned her M.B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Campbell University and her B.B.A. degree, summa cum laude, in Trust and Wealth Management from Campbell University. Brittany is a CFA® charter holder and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
